ZKL bearings in India
In early October 2023, the 10th annual national fair ISME 2023, focused on the steelmaking and metallurgical industry, took place in the eastern Indian city of Kolkata. The fair was attended by a total of 507 exhibitors, mostly from the OEM and MRU segments. The company ZKL was represented at this trade fair by its largest Indian customer – the distributor ZKL Bearings (India) Pvt. Ltd.
The Czech presence at the fair was generally very prominent. The Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India, PhDr. Eliška Žigová, took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition and later visited the stand of ZKL Bearings (India) Pvt. Ltd. She was accompanied by the Trade Counsellor in India, Ing. Eva Kopecká. Both showed great interest in ZKL products and promised their active participation in addressing the trade challenges currently faced in the Indian market. One of these challenges is the "Make in India" policy, which, especially among Indian state-owned enterprises, makes it difficult for European importers to participate in tenders.
India still represents a highly attractive territory for ZKL, primarily for the sale of predominantly tapered roller bearings into heavy industrial sectors—such as crushers, gearboxes, mining, metallurgical, and steelmaking environments. This is indicated by the considerable interest from customers, with over 300 visitors to the ZKL Bearings (India) Pvt. Ltd. booth during the 4-day exhibition. Collaborating with our distributor, we are already working on new projects and preparing the business plan for 2024.
